John Lavallee (Ray Manzarek) Keyboards - Self taught and classically
trained since the age of 7 and with an extensive history of sound
design experience that spans over 30 years, John has been the cerebral
musician/scholar and constant technical/creative source for Through The
Doors. Sharply honing his skills during 46 years of multi-genre
performances, he effortlessly weaves the diverse influences of The
Doors’ music (Blues, Rock, Jazz, Flamenco and Broadway) into what is
known as the “Ray Manzarek sound”. But, unlike Ray Manzarek, the
Chicago Blues virtuoso of The Doors, who chose to perform with a single
Gibson G101 organ and Fender Rhodes Piano Bass (thereby limiting his
palette of colors in a live performance), John has the technological
freedom and ability to study the original studio cuts and meticulously
fashion the myriad of keyboard sounds (and special effects) heard in
those songs with amazing accuracy and bring it to the live stage.
